OpenIAP including react-native-iap

OpenIAP provides open protocols, native implementations, and framework libraries for in-app purchases. Its Client Protocol standardizes purchase APIs and types; its Commerce Protocol standardizes server verification, entitlements, and subscription lifecycle events. The monorepo maintains react-native-iap, expo-iap, Flutter, Kotlin Multiplatform, .NET MAUI, and Godot integrations, alongside Apple and Android packages. In September 2026, npm recorded 589,205 downloads of react-native-iap and 1,036,826 downloads of expo-iap. Download events are not unique users or applications. The legacy react-native-iap repository had 3,223 stars when checked on 12 October 2026; these are historical ecosystem evidence, not OpenIAP monorepo stars. OpenIAP already documents SBOM publication, npm provenance verification, dependency monitoring, and security response. Funding will sustain this existing ecosystem through compatibility updates, issue triage, regression tests, release verification, documentation, and contributor onboarding.
