LLM4S

LLM4S is an open-source Scala-native framework for building production-grade LLM applications. Most LLM tooling today is Python-first, while many production systems in finance, telecom, data platforms, enterprise software, and distributed systems are built on Scala and the JVM. LLM4S closes this ecosystem gap by giving Scala developers open infrastructure for building AI-powered applications without abandoning their existing production stack. The project provides multi-provider LLM integration, agentic workflows, tool calling, RAG pipelines, memory, streaming, observability, tracing, metrics, secure execution, and production-oriented examples. LLM4S has already received external ecosystem validation through Google Summer of Code 2025, where four funded interns worked on the project under the Scala Center umbrella. FLOSS/fund support would help LLM4S become sustainable Scala/JVM AI infrastructure rather than remaining a purely volunteer-led effort.
