I maintain blitcp, an open-source file copy engine. It moves data between local disks, remote servers over SSH, and cloud object storage, and it is built around one idea: a copy that reports success should have actually succeeded. Every release is checked by a regression suite before it ships, and the tool makes no network calls beyond the transfer the user asked for.
The project is Apache-2.0 and has no paid tier. Development is unfunded and done outside working hours.
