Hyeong Jun Huh is an independent developer in South Korea and the founder and maintainer of cartesiancs (https://github.com/cartesiancs), an open source organisation he started in 2020. cartesiancs builds free tools that let one person do work that used to need an institution: turning OpenStreetMap data into 3D city models (map3d) and editing video with AI agents (CartCut). The projects are developed in the open under OSI-approved licenses. Before working on cartesiancs full time he was a founding engineer at a Y Combinator (W25) startup. Grants pay for maintainer time and for the infrastructure the projects run on. Funds are received by Hyeong Jun Huh, who holds a Korean bank account and can provide Korean tax residency documents.
