Open Source Endowment Foundation runs the world's first endowment for open source software. We fundraise from individuals and organizations, invest the principal in a low-risk portfolio, and disburse grants from the perpetual yield to maintainers of the most critical open source projects. Governed by an inclusive community of individual donors who contribute at least $1,000/year.
