AI engineer and lead maintainer of Semantica. I left my job to focus entirely on this project after recognising a clear and unmet need in the open-source ecosystem: developers building AI systems had no solid, production-ready framework for semantic reasoning, knowledge graphs, and explainable decision tracking.
Over the past year I have shipped 29 production-ready modules, 50+ Jupyter notebook tutorials, integrations with FAISS, Neo4j, AWS Neptune, Apache AGE, and Docling, and a complete W3C PROV-O compliant provenance layer — all without any external funding. Everything has been self-funded.
This grant would allow me to continue as lead maintainer for 12 months while bringing in part-time contributors — engineers, a technical writer, and domain experts — to scale the project beyond what a single person can sustain. The goal is to transition Semantica from a solo project into a small, productive open-source team.
