I am Jason Ng, an independent developer and the creator and sole maintainer of MyIP (IPCheck.ing). I started the project in November 2023 and have maintained it since then alongside my other work: writing the code, reviewing community pull requests and translations, running the public instance at ipcheck.ing, and paying out of my own pocket for its servers and for the licensed geolocation and ASN datasets it depends on.
Community sponsorship so far covers only a fraction of those running costs, and all development time is unpaid. Funding would let me set aside regular, predictable time for maintenance and new checks, and keep the public instance free for everyone who cannot or does not want to self-host it.
