Ruhu, Inc. maintains Open Alvary, an open, rights-cleared, machine-readable corpus of African primary law (statutes, regulations, gazettes, judgments), published under MIT (code) and CC BY 4.0 (metadata) with per-record rights for legal text. The law governing 1.4 billion people is not machine-readable; Open Alvary makes it citable by machines, with provision-level anchors, immutable versions and a public change feed, so that no single company controls access to the law.
