OIDA is a Swiss association under Art. 60-79 of the Swiss Civil Code, founded in 2026 by the OpenIndiana and illumos community. It organises funding and community work for illumos and OpenIndiana: it maintains the servers the projects use, raises money from donors and grants, and funds improvements to illumos and OpenIndiana.
