That $1,600 retains every proof from every ecosystem for a full year — about 137 TB across eight drives — so epochs an operator stops serving stay auditable by everyone. The same bytes in Amazon S3 Standard would cost $36,800 a year in storage alone, which is more than this entire ask. Multi-year non-cancellable terms strongly preferred; see below.

Stated separately, because a funder should know what keeps this alive as against what makes it good. Survival is an hour a month of maintenance plus about $920 a year of electricity — 350 W continuous at the Massachusetts residential average near 30c/kWh. No salary and no hosting bill: the server already existed, and its power is the only infrastructure cost at this level. All ten origins fit in 0.27 CPU cores and 1.2 TB/month, measured. The witness runs at this level funded or not.
