OpenTools

A free, MIT-licensed suite of everyday document, image, text and developer tools that run entirely inside the browser. Merging PDFs, compressing scans, converting and optimising images, removing backgrounds, hashing, QR codes, unit conversion and text formatting — 43 tool pages covering more than 400 individual operations. Almost every free tool for these jobs requires the user to upload their file to a third-party server first; the documents involved are tax records, bank statements, ID scans, medical reports and salary slips. OpenTools does the same work locally using WebAssembly, WebCrypto, Canvas, OffscreenCanvas and Web Workers. The guarantee is enforced rather than promised: production ships a Content-Security-Policy containing connect-src 'none', which makes the page structurally incapable of issuing any network request, and loosening it on a tool route is classified in SECURITY.md as a security vulnerability rather than a feature request. No accounts, no quotas, no watermarks, no paywalls, no advertising and no third-party scripts.
