MyIP (IPCheck.ing) is an open-source IP and network toolbox. On one page it shows the visitor's IPv4 and IPv6 addresses with geolocation and ASN from several independent sources, then runs the checks that reveal what a connection actually exposes: WebRTC and DNS leak tests, IP quality and blocklist checks, browser fingerprint, ad and tracker blocking tests, website reachability, speed test, MTR, Whois, ASN profiles, a DNS resolver and an IP calculator.
Why it matters: more people than ever rely on VPNs, proxies and custom DNS to protect their privacy, yet have no simple way to verify that the setup works. The sites offering such checks are mostly closed-source and ad-funded, so a user cannot know what the page records about them, and usually see a single data source with no second opinion. A privacy diagnostic is only trustworthy when its code can be read and anyone can run their own copy. MyIP is MIT-licensed and ships as a single Docker image, so individuals, companies and communities self-host it on their own domains.
Adoption: 12,000+ GitHub stars, 1,250+ forks, 590,000+ Docker Hub pulls and 28 code contributors. The interface is fully translated into six languages (English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, French, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese) and the README into seven. The audience is global: Chinese and English speakers form the majority, with Russian-, Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking users growing.
Maintenance: one maintainer, 23 releases in the last twelve months and 56 since April 2024. The public instance runs on servers and licensed datasets paid for by the maintainer, and has no income beyond small community sponsorship.
