Karuta is a flexible platform for the incremental development and publication of digital portfolios or "e-portfolios" for various purposes, including showcasing student/faculty work, curating educational content, and conducting assessments. Instructional designers can quickly build portfolio templates by creating pages, adding multimedia resources (text, documents, comments, etc.), and developing workflows. Karuta provides multiple roles (student, evaluator, etc.) to manage content and administer access/use.
Karuta offers many presentation features to enhance the display of a page: creating columns, boxes, and tabs, inserting images and text, changing the background, etc. A special configuration page provides quick control of the entire graphical chart. Karuta also understands the importance of accessibility as with its Responsive Design approach, Karuta seamlessly adapts to various mobile devices, ensuring a consistent and user-friendly experience across platforms. Karuta enriches the hierarchical structure of web pages with specialized resources and semantic tags which permit the creation of powerful dashboards, allowing students and evaluators to see their learning progress or the number of actions taken at a glance.
